My flight from Charleston to Charlotte was 20 minutes late, but since my connecting flight was on the same airline, I assumed they would hold the flight. After racing through two terminals, I was stunned that the plane was still there, but the attendant was not allowed to let us board!
Twenty-five people made it to the gate in time to watch our connecting flight taxi away with a large number of passengers missing. This decision cost the airline free lodging and a lot of goodwill for 25 passengers!
Proverbs 3 teaches, “Keep sound wisdom and discretion, so they will be life to your soul and adornment to your neck.”
Many on your team have common sense and discretion. Give them the authority to use it. I know of one airline who should have.
