When I was twenty-five, I started my first business. One year later I liquidated the business and felt like a failure. That led to a fear of ever starting another business.
Yet, in 1995, God called me to start a new business. My fear of failure caused me to wrestle with God, doubting that I could do what God was asking. Fortunately, I chose to be obedient rather than paralyzed with fear.
In Joshua 1:9, God said to Joshua, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
If you are wrestling with a fear of failure, remember the Lord is with you. I know He has been with me every step of the way.
