For those business owners who desire to give from their profitability, a donor advised fund (DAF) can allow them to donate into their DAF in late December for their tax deduction. Then in January, the business owners can determine to which ministries they desire to give.
DAFs, however, take away the urgency of selecting ministries to support. This sometimes results in cash sitting idle in DAFs instead of funding the ministries who need the funds to help others.
In 1 Timothy 6:18, Paul says about the rich, “They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share.”
If you donated to your DAF in December, don’t forget to finish the act of generosity by selecting those you wish to support in January.
