My family and I entered a restaurant about the same time that the hostess abruptly left! As we reached the hostess station, the staff was excitedly talking about the hostess who just angrily quit and walked out.

Unfortunately, many small business owners with whom I speak tell me this has become a common experience. Many are abruptly quitting without notice.

We hear frequently about the “great resignations” or the “quiet quitting.” I suspect that this is undermining the past workplace decorum of giving notice and showing employers some level of respect.

Philippians 1:27 teaches, “Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ.”

If you have younger adults in your life, encourage them to communicate and respect their employers even when they’re having a bad day.
