Tad Edwards is a 4th generation descendant of the former AG Edwards & Company’s founder. As a young man he watched his father grow the number of company branches into the thousands.
Tad wondered aloud, “How do you make that kind of growth sustainable?”
Tad’s father said, “If you lower your hiring standards for the sake of growth, it will eventually crumble. But if you hire people with integrity, whom you trust, your business will be sustainable.
When the Apostle Paul appointed elders, he laid hands upon and anointed these men for their positions within the church. In 1 Timothy 5:22 Paul taught, “Do not lay hands upon anyone too hastily and thereby share responsibility for the sins of others.”
Regardless of your company’s growth, don’t lower your hiring standards.
