Although it’s only one hour, the change to Daylight Savings Time in the spring often leaves me feeling deprived of sleep and rest. If this is true after losing one hour of rest, imagine the impact my body experiences when God’s design is ignored and I work seven days a week!
When I worked tax seasons in public accounting, I was expected to work 60 or more hours a week, many times on Sunday. By Monday, I was exhausted and redoing the work I had produced on Sunday.
Genesis 2:3 teaches, “And God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.”
If you’ve become a workaholic, follow God’s lead and take a break this week.
