P.K. Bernard said, “A man without a vision is a man without a future. A man without a future will always return to his past.” Creating a vision statement, working “on” the business, can seem like a waste of time, energy and human capital resources when compared to working “in” the business.
Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, but happy is he who keeps the law.”
Proverbs reminds us that an organization without a clear vision that drives future plans, and motivates and informs decisions, is disunified. A vision statement acts as a “law” to help bring order from chaos.
A vision statement aligns the organization to the company’s purpose. Consider what clarity a vision statement could bring to the future of your organization.
