Coach Tommy Bowden developed a system to help shape the character of his football players called CARDS. The final letter, and my favorite, is the S for Sacrifice.
For a football team to become a high performing team, there are times when an individual player may need to sacrifice their personal desires for the good of the team.
In business, each person might also need to make personal sacrifices for the sake of the mission of the organization. It may be handing off an account to someone better able to serve the customer or taking a humbling assignment.
Hebrews 13:16 teaches, “And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.”
Train your people to remember that the good of the mission sometimes requires personal sacrifice.
