In Numbers 13, Moses sent twelve men, including Caleb, into the Promised Land for a reconnaissance mission. When they returned, they told the Israelites the people they saw in the Promised Land were powerful and had fortified cities.
What Caleb heard was an exhilarating challenge. He jumped in and proclaimed in Numbers 13:30, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
Unfortunately, the majority lacked faith and Caleb’s courage. They believed Caleb’s idea was so crazy they tried to stone him.
Their disobedience cost the Israelites 40 years in the desert. Only Caleb and Joshua later entered the Promised Land.
Business can be hard. Sometimes God’s calling is daunting. When faced with challenges, be courageous like Caleb, not fearful like the Israelites.
