Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
When my youngest daughter was a teenager, I remember one day giving her some advice, I was stunned by her response. She said, “Dad, I suspect what you are telling me may be correct, but I’m the kind of person that needs to experience it on my own.”
Sure enough, she ignored my advice and it cost her significantly. Being teachable is a quality that is sometimes lacking in the marketplace, especially with younger leaders.
Proverbs 5:12 teaches, “How I hated discipline, and my heart despised reproof! I did not listen to the voice of my teachers or incline my ear to my instructors. I am at the brink of utter ruin…”
If you tend to ignore advice, maybe it’s time to start listening to your elders.
The Proverbs Challenge:
There are 31 chapters of Proverbs and 31 days in the month of May. Many business leaders have developed a habit of reading Proverbs and have discovered great value to their business life.
This month, I would like to challenge and assist you in making a habit of reading one chapter of Proverbs each day. I have selected a verse from Proverbs each day of this month. In addition to reading this daily devotional, I encourage you to also read or listen to the entire chapter for that day. We will provide a link for you to go to that chapter each day. Enjoy growing in wisdom!
