Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
Scott Tucker was a race car driver who amassed tremendous wealth by charging borrowers incredibly high interest rates through his payday lending operation. Tucker is currently spending 16 years in prison for criminal racketeering.
There are many victims of Tucker’s operation who would like to see restitution. The Federal Trade Commission levied $1.27 billion against Tucker to repay victims.
But Tucker still has a pending lawsuit at the Supreme Court against the FTC to thwart the FTC’s plan for paying restitution to the victims.
Proverbs 28:8 says, “Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.”
Sometimes the government can be a conduit to show kindness to the poor. Let’s pray that justice is served.
