When I was a single young banker, I attended the wedding of a friend. As I struggled to find a seat, the only person I knew was the new President of the bank where I worked at the time.
I had been in this President’s office previously and saw him frequently in loan meetings, so I slid in next to him and said, “Hi.” This bank president was very wealthy and not very friendly.
He looked at me, didn’t say a word in response, then simply moved to another pew.
He obviously wasn’t familiar with Proverbs 22:2, “The rich and the poor meet together; the Lord is the Maker of them all.”
God made the rich and the poor. We are His children, and we should treat each person accordingly.
