Dan called me recently and asked if I would listen to his confession. Dan had been traveling frequently in the last year and had not handled the road’s temptations very well.
He found himself frequently slipping into behavior which brought deep regret later. He realized that he needed to quit concealing it and instead confess his sin.
After Dan shared the details with me, he said the confession made him feel that a heavy load had been lifted from his shoulders. His confession to another was the beginning of his healing.
Psalm 32:3 teaches, “When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away through my groaning all day long.”
If you’re carrying around the guilt of your sin, find a friend and confess. True confession will begin the healing process.
