Tennessee Governor Bill Lee was interviewed by the Baptist Messenger about his faith and how it impacts his role as Governor. As a previous business owner, Governor Lee mentored inmates who were leaving prison.
Because of this experience, Governor Lee established a criminal justice initiative that is designed to help Tennessee inmates with re-entry and sentencing guidelines. In addition, his personal mentorship of an at-risk young man in the inner city caused Governor Lee to propose legislation to establish education savings accounts for those in the urban core.
Psalm 9:9 teaches, “The Lord also will be a stronghold for the oppressed, A stronghold in times of trouble.”
The Lord is using Governor Lee and his experiences to help the oppressed. How might God use your experiences to help the oppressed?
