Years ago, a couple of friends and I decided to start a training business. We researched, discussed, sought counsel, and began to push forward.
The one thing I didn’t spend enough time on was asking God about His will. After facing obstacle after obstacle, I began seriously asking the Lord for His direction about this new venture.
It soon became clear that this new business was distracting me from my true calling. But with money already invested I pushed forward to no avail. The lesson I learned was a hard one, but important.
Proverbs 21:30 teaches, “There is no wisdom and no understanding and no counsel against the Lord.”
Pushing forward against the Lord’s will, no matter how much counsel or wisdom you receive is fruitless. Seek God’s will first.
