As a young entrepreneur, I decided to liquidate my car rental agency. When a used car dealer offered to buy three of my cars, I was so excited.
He asked to meet on Saturday afternoon, after the bank was closed. He gave me a convincing story and a special kind of check that he promised the bank would cash on Monday.
Since his business was only two doors away, I let him con me into giving him all three car keys. Monday morning, his business was boarded up and my cars had been stolen.
Psalm 119:125 says, “I am your servant; give me discernment that I may understand your statutes.”
When someone tries to convince you of something you don’t fully understand, pray for discernment and the courage to say no.
