The Harvard Business Review featured an article on some benefits of what’s called the Impostor Syndrome. The Impostor Syndrome affects those people who commonly feel inadequate and believe they are a fraud despite having success at work.
A professor at MIT Sloan discovered that those who felt like impostor’s were more “other-oriented” and humble than their peers. This resulted in them listening better and handling sensitive patient or customer situations with greater skill.
By being other focused these so called “Impostors” turn their syndrome into a positive by serving others with a humble attitude.
Philippians 2:3 teaches, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”
You may feel like an impostor at times, but remember, your humility can greatly benefit your work.
