Tracy and her husband, Shawn opened their first Scooter’s Coffee in Omaha, Nebraska in 2004, ultimately moving their family to Kansas City as Area Developers. From these roots, Tracy transitioned to Scooter’s corporate team in 2010, overseeing the operations of 29 corporately owned locations.
During her tenure at corporate, she worked on the oversight and development of operational and training systems. Ms. Bouwens also served as lead in establishing Scooter’s University, a comprehensive online training website, and formed the manager in training (MIT) program—both of which are actively utilized today throughout the Scooter’s Coffee franchise system.
In 2014, Tracy, along with 3 business partners, formed Freedom Enterprises. As the president of Freedom Enterprises, Tracy manages the daily operations of the company and leads a team of 450+ employees. Freedom Enterprises is currently the largest franchisee in the Scooter’s Coffee system with 35 operating locations in a 4-state region and 5+ locations in various stages of development.
After more than a decade of learning many lessons in the business arena, Tracy realized that this journey has not as much to do with management, business philosophy, or even coffee, but about taking the lessons learned and using them to advance Kingdom purposes. Come hear her unconventional business story of how she pursues her deepest passion—helping women, from all walks of life, to rise up and become all that God has designed them to be and to pursue their God-given calling.
