In a recent Journal of Social and Personal Relationships report, University of Kansas Professor, Jeffrey Hall, discovered that it takes roughly 50 hours of time together to move from mere acquaintance to casual friend, 90 hours to go from casual friend to “friend” status and more than 200 hours before you can consider someone your close friend.
The workplace is where many spend the bulk of their waking hours and is one of the biggest opportunities for building close friendships.
Proverbs 18:24 teaches, “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”
