Wilson Fauber has been a Virginia realtor for over forty years, yet he was recently found guilty of ethics violations by a National Association of Realtors ethics panel. Mr. Fauber’s crime – years earlier he quoted Bible verses about marriage and human sexuality on social media.
According to christianpost.com, Mr. Fauber was charged with “hate speech” because of quoting the Bible. Mr. Fauber’s attorney said the message being sent is clear – “Bible believing Christian Realtors must be silent.”
So how should someone like Mr. Fauber respond? For justice to prevail, responding legally may be necessary.
However, in Matthew 5:44, Jesus said, “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
In addition to responding legally, we need to respond individually with love and prayer.
