If you’re like me, you spend a lot of time praying for wisdom for the many work decisions that need made. I’ve discovered that many verses in the Bible reference wisdom, knowledge, and understanding all in the same passage.
These three words have different meanings that build on each other. Understanding comes from learning God’s Word. Knowledge comes from the experiences and skills God provides to us, and wisdom comes from an accumulation of the understanding and knowledge we receive over time.
The beginning of all three traits, however, come from God.
Proverbs 2:6 teaches, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.”
According to the Bible, without God there is no true wisdom, knowledge or understanding. This week we will highlight each word.
