Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
After the twelve apostles surrendered their busyness to God and worked with the people to raise up seven more men to help meet the needs in their growing midst, the church continued growing.
The apostles could have said, “We’re the top guys. We’re not sharing our platform with anyone.” Instead they saw their platform as a place to better serve others. They stepped back and allowed seven more men to come alongside, risking that these men could push them out.
Apparently, it didn’t matter to them if they lost their positions. What mattered was that the Lord’s work continued. Acts 6:7 says, “So God’s message continued to spread. The number of believers greatly increased in Jerusalem, and many of the Jewish priests were converted, too.”
Surrendering to God is contagious.
