Author, Simon Sinek, in his book titled “Infinite Game,” believes that the business world has been stuck chasing what he calls a “finite game.” When business leaders simply chase profit from quarter to quarter, they are chasing a finite solution, rather than a lasting purpose.
Sinek contends that what business leaders should be pursuing is what he labels a “just cause.” If we realize what is our greater cause or purpose for our businesses, rather than profits, it will change how we make business decisions.
Jesus said in Luke 9:25, “For what has a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself?”
Profits are important to sustain our business, but as Christians our eternal game should be played to glorify God. Pursue eternity, not profits.
