Saving a portion of our income prepares us for the future and the unexpected expenses that inevitably arise. Having sufficient savings helps avoid taking on debt that can hold us back.
Proverbs 6:6-8 says, “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise! It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest.”
Saving doesn’t mean that we don’t trust God to provide. It is wise financial stewardship of the resources God has already provided.
