My cousin, Jack, negotiated with a hotel manager to host our family reunion. The manager agreed to waive the banquet room rental fee if enough of our family rented hotel rooms.

Unfortunately, we didn’t meet his expectations.

The manager was inclined to waive the fee anyway, until one of his investors demanded that we get charged for the room. Although they had the right to charge us, this investor undermined his manager’s authority and created confusion as to who was in charge.

Jude 1:6 says, “And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains …”

Like God did with angels, businesses need to internally make clear lines of authority and then adhere to them.
