At a conference I attended, Dr. Henry Cloud shared some lessons that can be learned from the Navy Seals. Dr. Cloud claims that Navy Seals ask three questions when dropped into enemy territory that can be helpful in stressful situations.
The three questions include, “Where am I?” “Where is my enemy?” and “Where is my buddy?”
When stress surrounds us our senses can be adversely effected. Pausing to assess where you are physically and emotionally can help you regain clarity of thought.
In Nehemiah 6 we read, “For all of them were trying to frighten us, thinking, “They will become discouraged with the work and it will not be done.” Nehemiah paused to determine the truth of his situation.
If you’re facing a surprisingly stressful situation pause, assess, and ask “Where am I?”
