In a book called “Founding Fathers,” Alexander Hamilton and George Washington reportedly had a volatile relationship. Hamilton was known for his brash ambition and his hot-headed ways.
On one occasion, Hamilton and George Washington had an argument over something petty that resulted in Hamilton resigning angrily. But, within an hour, Washington “sent an aide to tell Hamilton how highly he thought of him, and expressed the hope that a talk between them might heal the breach.”
A great leader realizes that humility is needed to fully reconcile with others, even subordinates.
Ephesians 4:2 teaches, “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
You may have a relationship at work that needs healing. Are you willing to humbly reach out to reconcile the breach?
