Mariano Rivera, a former New York Yankee pitcher, and the first person unanimously inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, had to be thrilled the day of his induction. Unfortunately, the Daily Beast released a hit piece on him hours before his ceremony.
Their editorial complained because of Rivera’s evangelical Christianity and his support of Israel. It also complained of Rivera’s desire to bring glory to God, not himself.
In Daniel 6, Daniel’s enemies tried to slander Daniel, but we read, “We will not find any ground of accusation against this Daniel unless we find it against him with regard to the law of his God.”
Congratulations to Mariano Rivera for not having anything his enemies can use against him except his faith. May we all be so fortunate.
