Many organizations are so driven to accomplish their mission that sometimes they race past major milestones or victories without pausing to celebrate. Celebrations are an important part of the journey. It can rejuvenate staff, recognize star performers, and solidify a team.
In the book of Nehemiah, the Israelites had worked very hard to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem and building out and inhabiting the homes in the city. It was definitely time to celebrate.
In Nehemiah 12:27 we read, “At the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, the Levites were sought out from where they lived and were brought to Jerusalem to celebrate joyfully the dedication with songs of thanksgiving and with the music of cymbals, harps and lyres.”
In your workplace remember to look for those opportunities to celebrate.
