After speaking at Chick-fil-a headquarters recently, I met an executive who shared that it took Chick-fil-a over 30 years to exceed $1 billion in revenue. He said, “It felt like the entire team was pushing a large snowball up a mountain!”
After that milestone, however, the snowball crested the mountain, and began rolling downhill. It only took four years to reach $2 billion.
Chick-fil-a used to focus on training and developing existing staff, now they realize they need to consider how they might staff and train the people necessary for a future $30 billion company.
Proverbs 22:3 teaches, “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.”
If you’re leading a rapidly growing organization, don’t forget to look forward and prepare appropriately.
