When I was a single CPA, I was befriended by our receptionist, Betty. She was a bubbly, very kind person, always willing to serve and care for others.
One Christmas was very painful for me. My girlfriend had dumped me and I dreaded the thought of being alone. Betty sensed my pain and invited me to spend Christmas Eve and part of Christmas with her husband and their two boys. Her kindness amazed me and I’m forever grateful for the joy I experienced in her home!
Proverbs 11:16 teaches, “A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth.”
Kindness requires us to be alert to those in pain around us. The holiday season is very difficult for many people. When you discover a need, be willing to serve others with kindness.
