When confronted with her crime, the Church’s bookkeeper was devastated with regret. She quickly agreed to a repayment plan.
At great sacrifice, every month she made payments to repay the debt. Eventually the elders graciously decided to forgive the remaining debt.
The amazing part of this story is that due to the love she was shown by the church, the bookkeeper lost her position but remained an active member of the church.
In Matthew 6:15, Jesus said, “If you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
