While I was in banking there were seasons when I competed against banks that practiced illegal and immoral lending practices. This made it very hard to compete.
I knew these banks would not survive long-term, but many were able to cover up their activities for years. It was personally frustrating to lose deals knowing that customers were being deceived.
Eventually the bank regulators would close these banks suddenly, often leaving their bank customers in very difficult situations.
In Psalms 64:7 the psalmist writes about the wicked, “But God will shoot them with his arrows they will suddenly be struck down. He will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin.”
When evil exists, it can be difficult to stand by and watch, but God always prevails.
