According to a Rice University study, working women do not feel supported by their clergy and churches. Many women felt that their work was not valued by the church and that clergy rarely had workplace experience to be able to relate to working women.
In addition, the study discovered that women’s church activities are often held during the day when professional women are working, as compared to men’s activities that are usually scheduled for evenings or weekends.
Galatians 3:28 teaches, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Considering that 47% of the workforce is female it seems the church needs to update their ministry approaches to support and encourage women in the workplace.
