For about a decade, I spent each Father’s Day alone. My wife and kids went to Autism week at camp each year during Father’s Day.
Kathy was a volunteer camp nurse, and my kids were campers. The dates were uncontrollable, but I still felt lonely and unappreciated at times on Father’s Day.
Finally, the year came when no one went to camp any longer! My family overwhelmed me on Father’s Day with attention and presents.
My joy was immense!
Proverbs 27:11 says, “Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart; then I can answer anyone who treats me with contempt.”
You may have people in your workplace who have felt unappreciated for a while. Today’s a great day to spread some joy by showing them some appreciation.
