One of the biggest reasons for business failure is due to being undercapitalized. Starting a business almost always costs more than expected.
Starting a business usually costs more than many entrepreneurs have in available cash. This typically leads to the entrepreneur trying to borrow significant sums of money, often requiring more trust in the lender than in God’s provision.
I’ve personally started a business trusting in a lender and I’ve started businesses waiting and trusting in God’s provision. I slept a lot better, and had more success, when God provided.
Proverbs 22:7 teaches, “The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.”
When starting a business, don’t assume you have to borrow money. Save and pray for God’s provision. He will likely surprise you!
