As we head into a new year, most economists believe we will experience a recession this year. This can be a self-fulfilling prophecy, if business owners and CEOs begin conducting business with that belief. Yet, they also have a stewardship responsibility to be prepared for the worst.
So as Christian leaders how should we respond? In Matthew 10, Jesus forewarned His disciples that He was sending them out into a time of trouble and danger.
He said to them, “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Be on your guard.” (Matthew 10:16)
As we head towards an eventual economic decline, be on your guard. Get debt free, build cash reserves and be shrewd in making bets on the future.
