The 2023 Freedom at Work Survey, performed by Ipsos, identified several areas of concern for many employees in the workplace. Sixty-four percent of those surveyed claim that respectfully expressing their political viewpoints at work would “likely or somewhat likely” carry negative consequences on their employment.

Interestingly, for those who were asked about expressing their religious viewpoints, 60% thought it would carry negative consequences. 25% said they knew someone who had experienced negative consequences for expressing their religious views.

1 Peter 2:17 teaches, “Show proper respect to everyone, love the family of believers, fear God, honor the emperor.”

As employers we should desire our people to feel free to bring their whole selves to work. Religious diversity of viewpoint is critical for us to respect all members of our team.
