Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
Many companies are tempted to promote good employees without proper training. An article from Fast Company states, “with all good intentions, managers take them from being at the top of their craft and asks them to step into roles they’ve never held, without the training and support they need. And they’re surprised when those employees fail.”
Judges 9 says, “Next, the trees said to the fig tree, ‘Come and be our king.’ “But the fig tree replied, ‘Should I give up my fruit, so good and sweet, to hold sway over the trees?”
Good employees, like the fig tree, produce good fruit. Promotion without the proper training can cause the good fruit to dry up.
Take time to train employees before promotion to avoid a shortage of good fruit.
