Years ago, I visited Tel Aviv on the Sabbath. Our hotel knew they had many Jewish guests who observed the Sabbath, so they prepared accordingly.
The elevator was programmed to stop on each floor automatically so that observant Jews didn’t violate the Sabbath.
In Exodus 16:23, Moses told the Jews to prepare their manna for the Sabbath. He said, “Tomorrow is to be a day of sabbath rest …So bake what you want to bake and boil what you want to boil. Save whatever is left and keep it until morning.”
Many do not enjoy God’s gift of Sabbath rest due to a lack of preparation. If we plan and prepare for our work to be completed in six days, it will leave us a day of much needed rest.
