Today, we’re discussing how leaders might pass the baton to their successors. Jesus only spent three years in ministry, yet today, He has billions of followers.

Identifying Jesus’ approach might be helpful for you and I. After Jesus spent time with His many followers, Jesus took His first big step towards establishing His future leaders.

In Luke 6, we read how Jesus selected His apostles, “Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples to him and chose twelve of them.”

Jesus prayed all night to get God’s perspective on selecting the right leaders. God knew each person’s heart.

Our starting point of passing the baton is to ask God for His direction on the right person.
