KC Chiefs Kicker, Harrison Butker, caused quite a stir weeks ago with his Benedictine commencement address. The issue that surprisingly received the most attention was his comments about homemakers.

Since Butker's mother is a physicist I doubt his intention was to denigrate professional women. Instead, I believe he desired to elevate the women, like his wife, who are called to be homemakers.

Some are called to be homemakers, and some to be physicists. God has plans for both that should be honored, especially if they follow God and glorify Him.

Romans 9:21 says, "Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?"

I applaud the important work of both homemakers and professional women.
