Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
Steve’s first job after college was in truck manufacturing. For almost two years Steve had worked with a repairman who did not make crude jokes but, was a part of the laughing crowd showing approval for those who did.
One day this repairman told Steve he was a Christian. Shocked, Steve quizzed him on salvation. Satisfied he knew the basics of Christianity, Steve realized that this man didn’t know that condoning these jokes was keeping him from a deeper walk with Jesus and tainting his witness to others.
Ephesians 5:4 teaches, “Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving.”
Don’t let your light be dimmed by participating or condoning crude behavior. Others are watching.
