Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

According to a thesis written by retired nurse, Susan Berry, called Politics and Pandemic in 1918 Kansas City, the Spanish Flu struck Kansas City in September 1918 beginning a battle of profit over people.

Kansas City leadership wrestled for months over how much economic pain to withstand versus preventing additional deaths. Due to political pressure, the leadership pursued profits and refused to enforce quarantines, resulting in 2337 lost lives!

Kansas City became known as one of the worst affected cities in the country. St. Louis, however, took immediate quarantine actions and experienced half the mortality rate.

1 Timothy 6:10 teaches, “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.”

Decisions are hard when money and life are at stake, but the love of money makes them harder.
