In 1776, our Founding Fathers grounded their argument for independence from Great Britain in their declaration “that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights.” They may have declared their independence from Britain, but at the same time they were noting their interdependence upon their Creator.
Many people break away from employers to become independent and start their own business. Without acknowledging their interdependence upon God, they are doing business alone during one of the most challenging times in their life, the startup of a new business.
Psalm 62:7 teaches, “My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.”
Becoming an independent entrepreneur is fine, but don’t forget your interdependence upon God. He is your rock!
