According to a Wall Street Journal article, a survey of more than 500 managers discovered that 75% of them plan on factoring office attendance into performance reviews. The reason for this is that only 12% of managers believe that hybrid employees are productive.

When a boss can’t visibly see you at your desk, they will often wonder whether you’re working or getting distracted by home responsibilities. Distance can create a lack of trust.

The key is communication. If you communicate clearly and frequently you will create a higher level of trust and likely more flexibility from your boss.

1 Corinthians 4:2 says, “Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.”

If you want job flexibility, be heavy on communication and prove yourself trustworthy.
