Like any leader, there are times when disputes have broken out amongst my team, forcing me to referee conflict. It’s during those times that I try to encourage each team member to show respect to their peers.
But as I was recently reading a passage in Romans, I realized the bar may need to be higher than just respecting each other. What if we honored each other.
Honor is often defined as “regard with great respect or esteem.” If we treated each other with honor most disputes would just melt away.
Romans 12:10 teaches, “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
In your workplace, consider raising the bar for your team. Ask them to consider honoring each other rather than just respecting them.
