Unfortunately, Grifters love to use the church as their playground. If you’re not familiar with the word, Grifters are con men or women who are adept at reading people and exploiting their weaknesses.
Since there are a growing number of scandals of megachurch pastors who have been arrested or thrown out of their church for fraud or sexual impropriety, I thought it might be helpful to write this series on guarding against Grifters.
2 Peter 3:17 says, “Be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unscrupulous people and lose your own firm commitment, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
In this series, we will discuss some ways that God’s Word helps protect us from Grifters.
