Listen to the latest 60 second episode of Integrity Moments with Rick Boxx
Integrity Moments is a 60 second workday devotional that provides business leaders with helpful insight into what the Bible says about our work and how we can fully integrate our faith into our vocational calling.

According to balance.com, the first person to reference the day after Thanksgiving as Black Friday was Earl Apfelbaum, in 1966. Earl claimed that the Philadelphia Police called it Black Friday because of massive traffic jams and overcrowded sidewalks.

Now, decades later, many department stores are closing and in-store sales are declining, Black Friday is becoming more of a Gray Friday as people migrate online. Bricks and mortar stores are having to become creative and develop online strategies as well, or otherwise face failure.

Proverbs 22:3 says, “The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.”

If you’re in a retail business, don’t get stuck addressing only today’s challenges. Determine the viability of your business model and make the necessary adjustments.
