During an interview for a grant, a committee member asked me, “How can people share their faith at work without violating regulations?”
“Many people,” I shared, “mistakenly believe we can’t say anything about our faith at work. We do need to be sensitive, but in this country we are able to legally share when the opportunity arises.”
The key principle to walking the tightrope between legal and illegal speech about faith at work can be found in 1 Peter 3:15, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
If God opens an opportunity to share your faith at work, take it, but remember to do it with gentleness and respect.
